DL380 G3 Cluster Firmware Upgrade
Hi there.
I'm looking to upgrade the firmware on a DL380G3 Cluster. I've downloaded the Proliant Firmware CD and was going to run this against each on the servers and upgrade the BIOS, the Smart Array Firmware and the Disk firmware as well.
Is this the correct way to go about this procedure?
Can someone confirm which is the best way to upgrade the servers / cards and disks firmware please.
Thanks very much,

Re: DL380 G3 Cluster Firmware Upgrade
You'll need to boot the cluster from the CDROM. Once you do, you should be able to use the Online ROM Flash Component Utility that is (or should be) on the disk to update the cluster.

Re: DL380 G3 Cluster Firmware Upgrade
Booting form CD, you prevent any changes on OS and cluster environment, therefore you must prefer this way. Shutdown both nodes, update firmware on each, then power off both servers and storage (MSA500?). Turn on storage and one node. When cluster services started succesfully (check via cluadmin), power on a second node
