NAS B3000 Reboots

Hi,
We have had a NAS B3000 cluster working for about 8 months. It currently has about 5 TB of data that we are planning to expand to 20 TB. Lately the nodes have been bugchecking and rebooting.
I'm not sure whether this is a driver, firmware or OS patch issue.

We are also losing data - open 200 MB files (contain multiple images) become 0 bytes when the connection resumes.

Is it recommended to update these servers to the latest MS service pack? (Windows Powered OS)

Can Proliant support packs be upgraded on these servers? (are they certified).

This is the bugcheck error we get:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000044 (0x881ad248, 0x00000cca, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195].

Thanks in Advance,

Henry

Re: NAS B3000 Reboots

Henry,

Apply the SAK kit to the B3000 to address your bugcheck. The SAK kit took care of some memory leaks and should hopefully help you.

Also make sure your SP is at SP 4 before applying SAK kit

Here is the approved list of updates for the B3000.

Re: NAS B3000 Reboots

Henry,

I actually found this other post and it appears that there is a specific fix for this bugcheck that may not be part of the SAK update.

Refer to this ITRC Thread:

Fix:

Re: NAS B3000 Reboots

I haven't applied these as of yet but will be doing so sometime this week.

Sure sounds like this will fix my NAS issues.

Thanks for the assistance.
