CimNotify Doesn't Start on Reboot on SMTP Servers
Hello,
I've setup half a dozen or so Proliants in the past few months with 6.x Management Agents and I'm having issues with the Compaq Event Notification Service (CimNotify) on servers that have SMTP installed. It works fine on the servers that are pointing to another SMTP server other than itself. But if I have CimNotify pointing to itself as the SMTP server, CimNotify won't start during reboot saying that it SMTP server is offline. I'm guessing that it's just the order that the services are starting in because I can manually start CimNotify after the SMTP service has started and notifications work fine.
Is there a way to force the CimNotify service start after the SMTP service? As a dependancy? I've also tried the AutoRecovery feature for the CimNotify service, but it evidently doesn't work at boot time.
Any ideas? I supposed I could just write a script to run a few minutes after boot to start the service...but rather not have to.
