Unable to clear ASR
I have 4 servers which have been rebooted by ASR. I have marked the events as repaired and cleared the IMLs but insight manager is still showing minor errors which I cannot clear. Any ideas ?

Re: Unable to clear ASR
I have already looked at this. The problem is that insight manager is showing an autorecovery minor (degraded) event that I cannot see how to clear.

Re: Unable to clear ASR
Try restarting the management agents on the affected device.
re run the snmp polling for servers and non servers.

Re: Unable to clear ASR
Try this:
Go to the device's Insight Management Agents page and click in the Recovery --> Autorecovery link.
Do you see the information of the last reset (Last Reset: ASR) and a 'clear' button??
If you clear the ASR by clicking the button, the minor state should dissapear...
I have attached a screenshot...
hope this helps!

Re: Unable to clear ASR
Have you logged in as 'administrator' in the management agents page?
maybe that is the reason why you don't see the button.
tell me if this helps....

Re: Unable to clear ASR
I'm not sure if the version of the agents is important in this point... I'm running version 5.3 of linux 7.1 agents.
I think you already have SNMP sets enabled, because you have been able to clear the IML log...
Could you attach a screenshot of the 'Recovery --> Autorecovery' page and of the 'Summary' page to see if we can sort something out?

Re: Unable to clear ASR
I have the same problem with one of my Servers. I already tried it, by restarting the Agents and running the polling tasks.
Nothing worked.
First it was a major error, after clicking the 'clear'-button it changed to a minoe error.
I am logged in as administrator.
Are there any further ideas, which can help solving this problem.
regards
Manjit

Re: Unable to clear ASR
This is again a guess. login locally to the server that's affected. open the compaq integrated log viewer and clear the entire log entries. Run the snmp status polling task again.

Re: Unable to clear ASR
PS: You should not see the "clear" button in the recovery pane of your agents. That must be a feature of the agents Marta is using.

Re: Unable to clear ASR
I don't know if this is a difference between agent versions, but i can clear the ASR and I see that button in both Windows servers (agents 6.4) and Linux servers (agents 5.3 or 5.4).
I think you don't have SNMP sets enabled, because in the screenshot you attached you are not able to modify any option (see attachment).
If you are running windows, you can enable SNMP sets doing:
Open Control Panel --> HP Management Agents.
Go to the 'SNMP Settings' Tab and enable the 'Enable SNMP Sets' checkbox...
Restart the agents to see if it works....
hope this helps..

Re: Unable to clear ASR
Jeff, the 'Clear' button only appears when you have got an 'uncleared' ASR in your server ... once you clear the ASR, the button disappears.
And if the server has not suffered an ASR it does not appear neither (in the screenshot you can see the last reset was of type: manual, not ASR)
I provided an attach above in this same post which did have the Clear button, but i already cleared it, so i had to provide another screenshot the second time with no button.... (but with the ability to change other options)
Paul, I don't really know which is the problem then, if you have reviewed your snmp settings and they are OK, .... but i see in your attach that you are not able to change the options of ASR (reboot, etc..)...
Can you change other settings in the agents, like 'File system space Used' thresholds?
If you can't, I imagine the problem is in the community names, destinations.....
But if you can change options in the agents..... well, it could be an ASR specific problem...
maybe someone in HP could shed a light in this problem....

Re: Unable to clear ASR
I'm wondering if a manual reboot of this system would fix the problem? If the recovery page is storing the last reset, by rebooting it, it might change to manual from ASR. What do you think?
