We installed 2 DL580 (G1, 900MHz) with SmartStart 5.0 and an assisted installation. For filesystem we selected NTFS and a size of 8GB. After installation we noticed that SmartStart created a FAT 4 GB drive. After we cleaned the system again with SystemEraser and tried it again with the same result.
Is SmartStart not able to create a 8GB NTFS partition as startdrive ?
Why I have the possibility to select these values if the software can not handle it ?

Solution
Smartstart can handle NTFS partitions larger than 4GB, but you are using a really 'old' version.
Try 5.50 or even better the 6.x series. With the new Smartstart 6, you only require one reboot. Unfortunately, your server is not supported by this version, so stick with 5.50!
Rgds,
Gert Luyten.
