defunct hpasmcli processes

Hello,

I am running `hpasmcli -s "show temps;exit"` via a daemon on G4 DL360s running RHEL 4. The daemon is a that perl script runs about once per minute, but some of the hpasmcli calls go defunct. I usually end up with about 80-100 defunct processes in a 24 hour period. Restarting the daemon makes the defunct processes exit. Does anyone know why these processes are hanging out there instead of exiting cleanly?

I've tried both v7.40 and v7.52 of hpasm, as well as full and partial installations of v7.40 PSP.

Thanks,

Re: defunct hpasmcli processes

Two questions...

What happens if you replace the hpasmcli with 'hplog -t' which also writes the temps?

Why do you think you need to constantly be checking the temps?
