Re: Config iLO in DL380 g4
1.Does the Ilo get an Ip?
2.Are you able to ping the Ilo Ip?
3.What do you type in the browser to connect to the Ilo?
Incase 1,2 does'nt work assign ip manually and see if it works.
Minimum requirements
iLO has the following minimum requirements:
├в ┬в Windows├В┬о clients
├в Windows├В┬о 2000/3
├в Microsoft├В┬о Internet Explorer 6.0 with 128-bit encryption
├в Java├в ┬в 1.3.1 JVM or later
├в ┬в Linux clients
├в Red Hat 7.3
├в Mozilla 1.60 or Firefox 1.0.2 with 128-bit encryption
├в Java├в ┬в 1.4.2 JVM or later

Re: Config iLO in DL380 g4
To connect to iLO you can either use
1. Web browser
Type in "https://
2. ssh session (port 22)
ssh
Let us know what error you get.

Re: Config iLO in DL380 g4
i looked at DHCP and 1 iLO was receiving an address.
but i couldnt ping it or connect via browser just got page could not be displayed.
So ive created annother reservation range in DHCP and will manually assign it an address from that set and get back to you.
sorry about the Atlantic its a time zone thing !
i have 3 such servers that are iLO compatable.
To clarify do i need a network cable from the iLO port in to my switch (i am under the impression the iLO port is only for configuration purposes)
and what sort of functionality will i get out of the basic iLO package as opposed to the advanced which i do not have a licence for.
Kind Regards
Paul K

Ilo port is just a connector.
Attachment for information about Ilo Basic and Advanced.

Re: Config iLO in DL380 g4
Many thanks for your imput.
Can now ping and log on to my iLO via a browser!!
We dont have any server based proxy devices so thats cool.
Couple of points.
1 ive now started to get DNS errors as this server is also our primary DNS server.
I really also only need iLO for making a system shutdown or restart in the event of a hung server which of the power options will attempt a "Gracefull" or "Clean" shutdown.
thanks for all your help
