DL360G10 - ILO5 - Can't see NIC status/MAC in ILO
New DL360G10 with ILO5 FW version 1.15
We would like to retrieve MAC addresses of the 560SFP cards through the ILO but cards don't show status and MAC addresses
Resetting the ILO does not work.
Familiar issue? We have 6 exactly the same systems. 1 works, 5 don't.

Re: DL360G10 - ILO5 - Can't see NIC status/MAC in ILO
There are a few possible causes for this behavior.
- has the host been booted after the adapters were installed? The BIOS creates records for the adapters that are used by iLO to display static adapter information. (SMBIOS type 233)
- Update to iLO 5 v1.20 or later. The update causes iLO to show the static adapter content for non-out-of-band managed adapters.
- Not clear whether those adapters support MCTP and NC-SI. iLO uses these out-of-band (OOB) management interfaces to retrieve adapter inventory and status. I do not know whether this can be ascertained from a data sheet. If the adapters do not support the OOB methods, you may need to load Agentless Management Service (AMS) to provide status to iLO.

Re: DL360G10 - ILO5 - Can't see NIC status/MAC in ILO
We have a similar issue with 12 HP G9 Proliant servers with HPILO - 4
In our case we can see the MAC adress but not the status
All 12 servers with same versions for firmware, drivers, etc. SPP runnig with SUSE LINUX 12 SP2.
all servers have the exact same network configuration.
HP-AMS is not installed in any of the 12 servers.
Each server has two NIC Cards
- Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter
- Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366T Adapter
All servers (even without HP-AMS) show the status of the ports in HP-ILO for the NIC card Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter
Only 2 out of 12 servers show the status for both cards Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter and Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366T Adapter (without HP-AMS)
All servers have the latest SPP loaded, same firmware same card, same network configuration.
Why only two servers show status for all cards and the other 10 do not show the staust only the MAC Adress no status for Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366T Adapter?
We do not what we should do?
As per the questions
has the host been booted after the adapters were installed? Yes everal times last time reboots were done to install latest SPP package
Not clear whether those adapters support MCTP and NC-SI. ? Not sure about it. but we can see the MAC adress and satatus for two of the servers having the exact same adapter Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 366T Adapter
If the adapters do not support the OOB methods, you may need to load Agentless Management Service (AMS) to provide status to iLO.
We have tried with HP-AMS and still we can not see the satus
The two servers that show the status DO NOT have HP-AMS installed
Power cycle was done in all servers since memory expansion was done that did not helped either. still only two out of 12 show the status and MAC address for 366T adapter
