HPQLOMIG unable to find Roles or create device objects

Hi,

I extended the AD schema, installed the MMC add-in and created some roles.

HPLOMIG was perfectly able to find our iLOs and RILOEs and upgrade their firmware.

But now I've come to the step to configure the Directory. I used the browse buttons to select the Container DN and the Role DN and that all works well. But when I click on the Update Directory button, it tells me that the Role does not exist! It also does not create any device objects during that step.

I entered the credentials of an administrator account, so it has full access to the AD.

Only if I create the device objects myself, and associate it with that role, HPQLOMIG is able to find it, and confirms that the device is added to the Role.

I am using this version of the Directory Support software:
v1.13 A - 22 Jul 04

I have a suggestion based on another forum thread:

Try using "runas" to set the context for HPLOMIG:

>> Even though the Migration Utility asks you for an Active Directory
>> Administrative account, it only uses that account info for the first migration.
>> When I ran the utility using runas with the administrative credentials,
>> it ran all of them fine.

Re: HPQLOMIG unable to find Roles or create device objects

I discovered that a slightly newer version seems to fix my problem - I still have to test it though:

version 1.14 A (19 Aug 04)

"Fixes:
Resolved issue where a new lights-out management processor object in the directory cannot be added to a role if the role is empty."
