ILO 5 - Delayed login

Hi

Each time I have to log into ILO, then the webpage says ... "Delayed in XX seconds" ... typically 40 seconds.

How can I turn this off? It's pretty annoying having to wait.

Thanks

Re: ILO 5 - Delayed login

Hi there,

did you the that message when entering a wong password/user?

If that is the case, I am not sure there is a way to avoid it.

Let me know,

Re: ILO 5 - Delayed login

Hi,

I am quite sure that you would have seen this message once you have entered a wrong username/password. The delayed log in feature is a security feature that ensures that unauthorized users arenot allowed a freehand to try out different username and password combinations. You would have realized that the delay keeps increasing each time an incorrect username/password is entered. Hope this clarifies.

Thanks,
Bonny.

Re: ILO 5 - Delayed login

That's all very well and good about having the security feature but we should be allowed to turn it off. I'm testing reconfiguring all of our directiory group names amongst other things right now and these delays when we are testing profiles with passwords are utterly annoying and frankly frustrating.

Please advise how to turn them off or give your customers the option to do so in the next release of the firmware - we should decide our own security policies, not HPE

Re: ILO 5 - Delayed login

This message does appear and the delay gets longer with each unsuccessful attempt to login BUT mine does this on the INITIAL attempted login. When I pull up the ilo for the very first time it makes me wait 50 seconds before I can even start typing in the login information. Very annoying.

Re: ILO 5 - Delayed login

Are you accessing remotely and login as LDAP user/kerberos login

Likely LDAP login delay.

Try direct access and check if there is any delay login message.

Check DNS setting/IP is correctly configured in ILO.

Thanks,

Sudhir
