iLO help

hello I have newver used iLO so pls pardon me for asking a silly question. I have a new ML570 G3 server and I have gone to iLO and assigned a static IP address, default gateway and can ping that IP address.
I want to know how can I use iLo. If I go to my desk, I how can I use the iLO to do admin tasks remotely. Please advise. Thank you

I CAN PING THE ip ADDRESS AND i HAVE TRIED

HTTPS://IP ADDRESS

You should be able to access the ilo board either bij it's assigned name or by it's assigned ip-adress:
https:/// or
https:///

If you can ping the board it should be reachable.
But try ping -a to see what name is returned. It should return the name of the iloboard. If not you are probably pinging something else.
You can read information about the ilo board in the local SIM agent. You can compare this name to the name that is returned from ping -a .

You have the right idea. Using Internet Explorer or Firefox, you should be able to browse directly to iLO to access the login page. Ping is a good tool to make sure you can contact the remote system.

If the URLs you are trying are unsuccessful, the problem may not be the network settings. It could be a problem with your browser configuration...

- Is the browser using "standard" port assignments, like 80 for http and 443 for https? If not, you may want to specify them on the URL

- Is the browser configured to go through a proxy? An unnecessary proxy connection can cause problems.

- (Assuming IE) Try tools/ Internet Options/ connections/ LAN Settings/
then look at Proxy Server, and enter iLO in the "bypass proxy for these addresses" list.
