Anyone up ESX 3.01 to 3.02 and kept the HP Agents for ESX at 7.7.0?

Our lead for the VMWare servers upgraded a few ESX servers from 3.01 to 3.02. Were still at the HP Management Agents for VMware ESX Server 3.x 7.7.0.

Just wondering what's been the result. The web page for the HP Management Agents for VMware ESX Server 3.x 7.8.0. say they now support ESX 3.0.2 and I'm wondering what that means.

Thanks,

Dana

Well if it works that may be half the answer.
But I'd be very careful about keeping ESX as supported as possible. You've potentially a lot of infrastructure riding on it.
It's not difficult to replace the agents, there's no outage of the ESX Server required.
So I would look to update the agents asap.

Thanks Rob,

We have one ESX server that's in maint. mode but running fine. I'll un-install the prior version and install the new version. With the pre-configured config files it should be painless.

Hey, maybe they fixed that mysterious missing SMH protocol issue that prevents single sign on and then one day it starts working and one day it stops again.

See ya!
