Can I get the product number from SIM 5?

Hi all,

Is there anywhere in SIM 5 or the SMH where I can get the product number for a Proliant Server? For instance, for a DL360 G3, the product number is 345101-001.

Report, query, manual clicking, I don't much care - I just need the info.

Report > New Report > I believe I found it under the Inventory category > Product ID

Thanks! That's what I needed. However, when I ran the report, ONLY the G4 servers showed up with Product IDs! For all older servers, the field is blank. Is this expected behavior?

Thanks - I'm a bit confused. Do you mean that this report was run on a different version of SIM? We are running SIM5 SP2.

Sorry for the confusion...
Both servers are SIM 5.0 sp2...
One of the SIM servers only has 380G4s as targets (small network), while the other one has a variety of servers. So I thought I would pull a second report from the SIM server that has more than just the 380G4s.
So it was able to pull Product IDs from 320s and 360s but these are brand new machines. So this field may not apply to legacy systems.

Hi Christopher,

Wow, this is an old thread.

You can run a custom report in SIM and include "Product ID" as one of the columns, but only generation 4 and above machines will return values.
