Changed domain password, now getting SSPI handshake failed.

Changed domain password, now getting SSPI handshake failed.

I'm running W2K3EE R2 SP2 with MSSQL2005 on my HPSIM server. I've recently changed a domain admin account pw and now getting repeated Failure Audits; "login failed for user". The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. And SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed.

I ran the mxpassword command and corrected the vmmVcPassword but I did not see a MXDBuserPassword listed as one of my choices from other forum postings. The only other listing was MXSshKeyPassword which appeared to have a generated pw. Do I need to change that one to get it working or is there something else I need to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

Re: Changed domain password, now getting SSPI handshake failed.

If the database password and HP SIM service account passwords are changed, the following steps
must be performed to gain access to HP SIM:
1. Stop the HP Systems Insight Manager service.
2. Update the HP SIM Properties page, under the Log On tab, with the new password.
3. Launch the MxPassword GUI by running the following command:
~HP\Systems Insight Manager\bin\mxpassword â g
4. Modify the password of the MxDBUserPassword key to reflect the new password.
5. Start the HP Systems Insight Manager service.
