Configuring HP SIM & Arcserve SNMP Traps

Hi,

I Have an installation of HP SIM 5 SP4 and would like to configure it to recieve alerts from Arcserve Backup 9 & 11.1 versions.

Has anyone done this succesfully ? Im struggling on the Arcserve Setup, On setting the SNMP Recipient Its acking for a 'Manager Name' and either an IPX or IP address.

Is there anything specific i should enter for the Manager Name ? im guessing the ip os for the SIM's ip address.

That sounds like it should be the IP Address of the HPSIM Server.
In addition, the community name that the trap is sent also needs to match the community names set in HPSIM. Unless you've actively changed these the default "public" should be okay.

You'd also need to check if the ArcServe MIBs are loaded into HPSIM by default, otherwise you will need to also do that.

Also , HP SIM supports only V1 traps.
