DCOM errors in HP SIM 4.2
I have recently taken over responsibility for our installation of HP SIM 4.2.
I would like to upgrade to version 5.0 in the near future. So I have been checking the current setup.
When I check the event log on the server I have a lot of DCOM errors as detailed below:
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer *IP Address* using any of the configured protocols
I have checked and these events started as soon as HP SIM 4.2 was installed.
The server is a HP DL360 with Windows 2003 (no Service Pack).
Has anyone seen this or give me some advise as to what to look into? The main issue for me is that this install was done 6-7 months ago...
I would rather fix this installation and then upgrade to 5.0 than do a fresh installation of 5.0 as we use certificates and with a fresh install I will have to distribute the certifacte to over 400 servers.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DCOM errors in HP SIM 4.2
Mark, see this thread about DCOM warnings:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=348570
You can upgrade to HPSIM 5 without any relation to DCOM warnings.
HPSIM 5 is more stable, has new features and doesn't require Java on client side.

Re: DCOM errors in HP SIM 4.2
Thanks for the information.
I have checked the devices where the DCOM error was occuring and it was iLO cards and other devices without WMI.
So as per the workaround in the other thread I have disabled DCOM errors.
