DL380 & DL360 show as "unknown" in SIM 5.1

Some of our DL360 and DL380 servers are showing as "unknown" in SIM 5.1.

Unknown means that it has found a discovery protocol but doesn't have access.

The main thing to check is SNMP. The HPSIM Server needs to be one of the allowed hosts and with the correct community names there.

If you click on the server name and expand the details you can see which protocols HPSIM has discovered.

Make sure you have the foundation agent installed on the server. If the identify system option in HP sim shows SNMP not responding, do the configure and repair agent in the HP sim too. After that details are not shown yet, delete the system and re-discover again. This should solve the issue

Make sure VCA Home page show proper status after configuring to VCRM & perform software polling in SIM to get the software status correctly.

I had a similar problem and found that tweaking the SNMP & Agent Settings on the security tab in the System Management Homepage for the troublesome server solves this issue.
