Difference between HP SIM 7.1 & HP Insight Management 7.1 & HP Insight Control

Hi All,

What is the difference between HP SIM 7.1 & HP Insight Management 7.1 & & HP Insight Control

I guess these are three different tools which perform three different functions?

HPSIM 7.1 - It is the base of the Management Software suite. Entire Suite (IC) is built on top of HPSIM.

                        HPSIM is free and can be used to monitor HP Devices (Server, Storage, Switch, Router etc) with some 3rd party support (IBM Server, Dell Server).

3) Inventory

4) Software / firmware Updates / baselining

HP Insight Management 7.1: This is a set of Agents that are used by HPSIM to manage / monitor the Server / System.  Insight managed system setup wizard configures systems to enable them to be managed by Systems
Insight Manager (HP SIM) and its plug-in applications.

HP Insight Control: This a complete Management Suite used to manage different parameters / aspects of Datacenter.

IC consist of:

1) ICpower: For power management in datacenter (licensed)

2) PMP: Perf. Monitor (Licensed)

3) VMM: Virtulization Manager (Licensed)

4) RDP: Remote Deployement Pack.

5)SMP: Server Deployment Pack (Licensed)
