Hi,
Is it possible that HP SIM 7.0 discover devices only with SNMP?
The only ports witch are open on the firewall are UDP (161 /162).
I know that i can change the icmp by a tcp port but it's impossible to have a discovery with TCP or icmp in the network.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Re: Discovery based on SNMP only
Yes, SNMP should be sufficient as longs as you have the correct mibs registered

SolutionDoes the discovery task fail saying unreachable?
You could try this;
Option -> Discovery
Above task, click on Configure general settings...
Check the box at the top; Automatically discover a system when a event is recived...
On the managed device, set snmp to point to CMS(SIM Server) and send a test event.
or
I have set the ICMP to use 161/162 TCP and then discover then set it back.
