Disk space alerts in VMWare guest OS

What is the best/recommended way to get disk space alerts (SNMP traps) from within the Guest OS to HP SIM? Is there a way? I've seen various articles and posts regarding using WEBM to get space reports, but for our environment we need SNMP traps fired when thresholds are crossed on the drives inside the guest os's, just as they do on our physical HP servers.

The only way currently is to run reports in HP SIM and examine the information.
