Event messages setup
I am getting the messages when the system is unreachable, but I can't seem to create an event that will tell me when it becomes reachable again. This would be for automatic reboots following patch installs and such. Am really new at SIM.

Re: Event messages setup
I am assuming you are set up to receive alerts for critical events? The "system reachable" notification is a normal event so you won't get the alert in that case. You can change the severity to critical by going into Options, Events, SNMP Trap Settings, select the correct Mib, and change the setting. I don't know right offhand which Mib you want.

Re: Event messages setup
I have one like that:
I created a Automatic Event Handling, HP SIM Menu>OPTION>Event>Automatic Event Handling >New task
1_Name
2_use event attributes that I will specify
3_Where_Cleared State_is_cleared
4_use this system collection_All server(you cant select all system if you want also)
5_Send e-mail:xxxx@youreemail.com, and the option you want..
Do not ferget to apply you're points, it next of the date of the message''Unassigned''
