Events not showing up on SIM server

I recently set up a SIM server and have a number of ESX 3.5 hosts that are properly identified by it. I had a power supply fail on on one of the hosts about a week ago and those events are on the SIM server.

I then set up an event handler to send e-mails for events like this, To test this I pulled one of the power cables on the host. The events posted in the IML never showed up on the server. I sent a test trap and that shows up and I received an e-mail about it.

I've tried restarting the Insight Manager service but that has made no difference.
Any ideas?

Which version of the ESX Agents? - if you haven't already you may want to try version 8.1.0.

I installed 8.1 on the servers that are succesfully sending traps but am still not seeing any other events being posted on the SIM server.
