Exchange 2007 Servers (CCR)

I am running Sim 5.0 with SP5. Can I monitor Exchnage 2007(CCR). Under Cluster Monitor I only see option to add MSCS and when I try to add Exchnage 07 servers I get

No, is not Cluster MSCS : wrong Device Type. Help!!!

Re: Exchange 2007 Servers (CCR)

See page 299 of the 'HP SIM 5.3 Technical Reference Guide' from http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library. Cluster Monitor is ONLY for MSCS clusters.

Re: Exchange 2007 Servers (CCR)

HP SIM can be used to monitor the ProLiant hardware and can report when a process such as Exchange or other processes stop. To monitor an application, you need a product that is application aware, such as HP Operations Manager (formerly OpenView Operations).

Re: Exchange 2007 Servers (CCR)

Thanks for the info. SIM worked great for Exchnage 2003. It notified us if any of the cluster resources(storage)went down. But since SIM does not support CCR clusters as you mentioned..time to look into third party applications including Openview. Thanks.
