HD size and SMH.

Why can’t we see the real HD size in HP SMH? For example: We have 146 GB Drives in a Proliant DL380. SMH say’s that there are 140010 MB Physical Drives insight. Same with 36 GB drives in Proliant servers. SMH say’s Physical Drives are 34728 MB. In the reports we see the same. Can anybody explain me why?

Re: HD size and SMH.

There are differences between decimal and binary capacity - you "loose" 24 bytes in every one kB (1024).
In each HDD quickspec you can read notice:
"For hard drives, 1 GB = 1 billion bytes. Actual formatted capacity is less."
