HP Insight Manager on ESX

Hi Guys,

I am trying to install manager on an ESX Server via a script which esentially runs:

/root/hpmgmt/851/install851vibs.sh --silent --inputfile /root/hpmgmt/851/hpmgmt.conf

once I have configured the .conf file...

The problem is a get an error:

HP Insight Manager Agents Bulletins Agent ID error in offline bundle
[FAILED]
installer exit is called with status -[91]

does anyone know why this happens please?

Do you mean in the Service Console of ESX? Not only not supported, but shouldn't be done. You need a real VM running a real version of either Linux or Windows.

this cant be right can it? i'm talking about the HP Insight Management Agents you install on a HP Blade that allows access to the Systems Management Homepage via https:\\servername:2381... I downloaded it from the HP Site?

this can be found by going bl460c section of the HP website and downloading System management software

If a previous version of the agents has been installed it needs to be removed before installing a new version.

Also, what version of ESX are you installing onto?

no previous versions are installed. i'm trying to install it on a fresh build vsphere 4 server.

I just ran into the same issue. This is a new server and it as the new patches from 2-10, could this be related?

I didn't have any issue installing the agent on our other not-yet-patched systems.

No Idea, but i'm still faced with the same issue... have you found anything useful?

I think the file was corrupted. I re-downloaded because it was erased by mistake and I was able to install without errors.
