HP Insight Remote Support Advance fails to connect to HP Support Center during installation

I am trying to get a SIM server going.  The SIM software installs and appears to function just fine.  When attempting to install the Insight Remote Support Advanced software at some point I get this error:

Failed to connected to the HP support center.

Please click "back" and verify your proxy settings.

For additional information refer to the following log file...

Apparently doing something wrong; not sure what it is.

Environment:

Win 7 on VMWare ESX 4.1.2

HP SIM 6.3

Thanks.

Start off with this guide and verify your pre-reqs for IRSA.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF&prodSeriesId=3927992&targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fbizsupport1.austin.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc03052635%2Fc03052635.pdf

You'll find that Win7 is not a supported operating system for IRSA so once you do connect you may find the connection ultimately refused.

About section 1.4.5 you'll find the ip addresses you can validate from your browser.

Here is a quick link for the rest of the document store for reference: http://www.hp.com/go/insightremoteadvanced-docs

Outside of that there really is much further I can go may be someone else has something they can toss in - it is possible that the backend was simply unavailable which does happen from time to time.

Re: HP Insight Remote Support Advance fails to connect to HP Support Center during installation

Thank for the reply.  The guide was very helpful.  I think Win 7 was the issue. I tried again with Server 2008, and things appear to have installed and connected to HP Support successfully.
