HP Lights-Out Passthrough Service

HP Lights-Out Passthrough Service for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003 (English (US)) ver 1.0.25 failed to installed on half of our servers (~30 DL380 G4, 3x ML350 G3, 2x ML530 G3). The problem was, that the service wasn´t able to start.
During my search in this forum, there were some suggestions, but nothing solved the problem.
Now I found a workaround:
de-install the existing package (v. 1.0.25) and install ver. 1.0.23
The service starts and everything is fine.

Re: HP Lights-Out Passthrough Service

This worked for me. I dont know whty 1.0.25 failed to work.

I am running Windows 2003 Server R2 32bit on a DL380 G4, using the Remote Desktop feature (not full TS).

I somehow got 1.0.25 to install and work but when I either rebooted or joined the domain it then failed. Ive checked GPO and nothing is obvious to be preventing it from running.

So, taken the advice from here, and successfully running 1.0.23.

Re: HP Lights-Out Passthrough Service

Further update :

After installing 1.0.23 I then got brave and installed 1.0.25. This was successful and survived a reboot.

Hope it holds up :)

Re: HP Lights-Out Passthrough Service

I´ll wait for the next release. I hope, the bug will be fixed, but the passthrough service runs fine with 1.0.23 and as we don´t use additional RILOEII-cards, the missing support for these is not the problem.
