HP SIM 5.0 sending two status messages for each error or issue

Operating system: Windows 2003
Version: Systems Insight Manager 5.0 with SP5 - Windows
Build version: C.05.00.02.00

Can anyone tell me why our SIM server always sends duplicate status messages for just about everything that gets reported?

Example:

Not cleared POST Errors Occurred (6027) rmregapps022 2/21/07 3:52 PM Server
Not cleared POST Errors Occurred (6027) rmregapps022 2/21/07 3:52 PM Server

The contents of each message is exactly the same.

Are two events generated each time?

Could be you've got two Trap destinations configured, possibly one each for different community strings.
Or, if only a single event is being received but you've got two alerts you have overlapping event handlers that are both reporting the event.

Rob, thank you! I have also been having this trouble but was told that one alert was from the server, and the duplicate alert was sent from the iLO card. But it wasn't happening on all of my servers. Sure enough, some servers have two trap destinations: one is the IP address of the CIMS server, and the other is the name of the CIMS server!
