HP SIM 5.1sp1+ and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
Will future versions of HP SIM v5.1 SP1+ support SQL Server 2005 Express Edition?
Most of our installations run also WSUS on the same server. hence WSUS 3 doesn't support MSDE database we need to install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. (we do not prefer to let it run under 'Windows Internal Database').
So it would be ideal for us to run it as another instance of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
Or does someone know how to run MSDE / SQL Server 2005 Express Edition on the same server. Do you only need to run both Servers on a different port number?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

Re: HP SIM 5.1sp1+ and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
Hi,
at my system HP SIM 5.1 SP1 works with SQL Server Express SP2.
The only think I changed is to enable the SQL Browser Service, from disabled to automatic.

Re: HP SIM 5.1sp1+ and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
First installed SQL Server Express 2005 SP2, afterwards HP SIM did detect a SQL Server instance where I installed the database to.
