HP SIM 5.3 Manual Discovery Option Disappeared

We upgrade recently from 5.2 to 5.3 we lost the option to manually add of a system or at least we canтАЩt find it anymore. Via Discovery we can create a new rule pointing to the new system and run it, it completes correctly but does not add the system.

Does anyone have experience with this matter?

The systems are VMтАЩs running on ESX servers with WMM agents installed on it. We receive the following output:

Re: HP SIM 5.3 Manual Discovery Option Disappeared

In 5.3 you have to create the manual discovery. Under options, discovery, New, and select single system. Save it and edit it for each system you want to add, then click run now.

Hello Don,

Thanks for your reply, we did find this option. The point is that the systems are not added, see the output in my original thread.

Kind regards

Re: HP SIM 5.3 Manual Discovery Option Disappeared

The info provided is from an Identification task. If this was run against the VM itself then it's just telling you it couldn't identify it.
If it's not being discovered you may want to check that you've not got filters enabled that are excluding unidentified devices.

Re: HP SIM 5.3 Manual Discovery Option Disappeared

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your reply. Indeed a filter was enabled! Via Options/Discovery/Configure General Settings I selected 'Unmanaged' and rediscover the VM, this time it is added to HP-SIM.

Thanks for your help!
