HP SIM 6.0 and wbem events
Hi all. I got fresh installation of HP SIM 6.0 on windows 2008 SP2 x86 virtual machine.
I also got a ProLiant DL360 G5 server which a add to hp sim.
on dl360 i generate test even using hp util "Test WMI Events" but it is not showing in hp sim in events tab.
on hp sim server:
i check "Accept unregistered events"
and hp sim server got 2 services running:
"Pegasus WMI Mapper" and "Pegasus WMIMapper Indications Service".
i subscribe dl360 to wbem events, and i got correct output of "mxwbemsub -l" command.
I also open all needed firewall ports.
in Management Protocols i see - HTTP:, WBEM:1.0, SMH:2.0
http://i41.tinypic.com/25hmqs7.png
on dl360 i run
enableRWMI.exe -a:MY_DOMAIN\my_wbem_account
i also carefule read this document (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01509052/c01509052.pdf)
still no luck :(
any ideas?
and as say Rob Buxton:
"Best to start a new thread.
I'd just say to check the items noted here.
Ensure you have set up the WMI part and the two services are running.
Ensure you have subscribed to the services."

Re: HP SIM 6.0 and wbem events
as i understand hp sim recive events on tcp port 50004.
I got process mxdomainmgr.exe listening this port on hp sim server.
In firewall i open inbound tcp: 2301, 2381,5989,5988,50000,50001,50002,50003,50004
i find good document about hp sim ports
http://www.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/downloads/management/hpsim/HPSIM_Security_WP.pdf
i even try to sniff traffic on hp sim server, using wireshark (www.wireshark.org) and there are no packets coming to hp sim server on port 50004.

Re: HP SIM 6.0 and wbem events
Hi there !
Did you try to use unprivileged user or you have used administrator accaunt (domain) ?
Also did you try to use SNMP instead WMI ?
Are both machines on same VLAN ?
HPSIM / IRSA need to be installed on proliant server windows based (win2k3 or win2k8) by recommendation of release notes for IRSS / IRSA.
Kind Regards,
Mladen ...
