HP SIM 6.1 & HP Insight Control virtual machine management
Hello
I have HP SIM 6.1 running on a own server.
Ive been looking into a way to sort them under a own "System by Type" folder.
But then i install HP ICE on a new server to check out some new features.
Found that it had a plug-in application called:
HP Insight Control virtual machine management 6.0.0.0
Is there any way that i can install this on my HP SIM 6.1 ?
Or do i have to switch over to the HP ICE in order to use this feature ?
Best Regards Christian

Re: HP SIM 6.1 & HP Insight Control virtual machine management
In order to use HP Insight Control virtualization features, yes, you need an Insight Control license to use any features of the IC suite.
you can get trial licenses from here of course: www.hp.com/go/tryinsightcontrol

Re: HP SIM 6.1 & HP Insight Control virtual machine management
I have the license, but i was wondering if i could use it with out installing all the other stuff that HP ICE includes.
I just want to have the HP SIM part, not the HP RDP and so on.

Re: HP SIM 6.1 & HP Insight Control virtual machine management
Use the 6.1 Insight Software DVD to install/upgrade the Insight Control components. The installer has a customize button if you want to deselect components you don't want to be installed. Once installed however, the IS installer will upgrade all components to the version on the DVD.
