HP SIM 6.2 and version control language issue upgrading ILOs on servers.

I have no idea when this started to happen.  The HP SIM 6.2 server hasn't changed in a long time.

When I point a server (proliant dl380g5 for example) to the repository on the HP SIM server, for some reason the drive for the ILO gets flashed with the japanese version.

Under Version Control Agent for the server to be installed on:

Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 (Japanese)

Anyone have any ideas what is going on and why the ILO is the only effected firmware/driver?

Hi,

the japanese firmware is a known issue supposed to be fixed in next PSP/SPP. Problem started with PSP 8.70

so basically, i suggest you use the english version from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Product.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodCatId=241435

The problem as been reported to HP and it was published in an advisory. You have to flash it again with the english version.

It does not affect all Server, but can't tell wich one are affected, i generally verify wich cp0xxxxx.exe in vcagent is to be installed to tell if it will turn in japanese.
