HP SIM 6.3 Upgrade Import Error
I am having a problem upgrading our current HP SIM 6.1 to 6.3 on a new server. Source CMS is a Windows Server 2003 box and target is Windows Server 2008 R2 box. Export of data went fine however when trying to do the import I am receiving the following error:
CMS data (device) is not found in the database. The database may be corrupted.
Please use a fresh installed target CMS for import
Error while reading CMS data using HPSIM database connection.
Product Name : HP Systems Insight Manager
Product Version : Not Available
Status : Failed

Error occurred while importing data. Import failed.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It actually appears that the export is failing. It appears that the zip file is empty. This is what I receive from the export:

No I havent been able to determine why the job is failing and I'm not getting any feedback. I even contacted HP and they referred me to the backup/restore documentation...I explained to the rep that I was doing a fresh install on a new server and from reading almost all documentation, that method is not the suggested method here. Dunno, hopefully someone who has experienced this in the past will clue me in on what is up.

I would stop all services manually before running the export. Also, what version of DB are you using? Login and make 100% there is only 1 SIM DB in there as there maybe others from previous restores or upgrades. Verify the account you are using to run the export and try again
