HP SIM 6.3 install - "This program cannot display the web page" after SQL Express inst

Hi,

I really tried to prepare this server according the prerequisites given in the "Install Guide". But the very next screen after the SQL Express installation finished shows: "This program cannot display the web page". I really checked every resource but still no idea.

Here 's my works:

- VMware ESX 4.1.0 Build 345043 on DL 380 G7; 4GB RAM, 2 QuadCore CPUs @ 2.1 GHz; 4GB RAM;

- VM: 2 CPUs; 4GB RAM; 80 GB HD; no internet connection (there is just a proxy I can authenticate to with IE)

- OS: W2K8R2SP1; Roles: Application Server (.NET 3.5.1) and IIS

- APP: HP System Insight Manager 6.3

Any suggestions on what I could do or where I could check first?

Hi,

Do U have Internet Explorer 9 installed on the server? If so, this is a known issue...

U can remove IE9 and fall automatically back on IE8... Then it should work...

Bingo!! IE9 was installed (as it got updated up to the most recent patch). As I uninstalled it (and it fell back to IE8) the next page did show the "Typical" <-> "Customized" decision page ...
