HP SIM For simple HW monitoring / alerting
Hello,
I'm looking for an easy to follow whitepaper to setup HP SIM to monitor, and alert on, failed hardware components in our disbursed server environment. I have a simple 14 server environment (all Proliants, all running Windows 2003/2008).
Can someone point me in the proper direction?

Re: HP SIM For simple HW monitoring / alerting
All the resources can be found by going to www.hp.com/go/hpsim and look for the link to the Reference Library.
From there you will find all of the documentation.
If you built the HP Servers with Smart Start you'll have the Agents that monitor the server hardware.
If you search this forum for snmp you'll get a good understanding of how to set that up and how it works.

Re: HP SIM For simple HW monitoring / alerting
There is a whitepaper called "Getting started with HP SIM 5.3 in a smaller Windows environment" that is written for environments like yours. Find it at http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library
