HP SIM Service Account PW Change

We changed the password for the user running the HP SIM (5.1) service (on W2k SP4). The logon information for the HP SIM service was changed accordingly.

Then we received errors in the eventlog like:
com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Error loading database verification handler 'com.hp.mx.database.MsSqlVerificationHandler'
com.hp.mx.database.DbVerificationException: Error accessing database

(Event ID 3)

We tried to use these commands to set the new PW:
mxpassword -r -x MxDBUserPassword
mxpassword -a -x MxDBUserPassword=
but had no success. What did we do wrong?

We stopped the HPSIM service, ran mxpassword -g (to get the GUI), modified the MxDBUserPassword, started the HPSIM service.

Still the error messages are the same.

Any idea about what we did wrong?
