HP SIM and CV9.1 (EVA4000)

Hi there, just fully installed CV 9.1. So in order to get my HP SIM to see the EVA, what should I do? Is there any documents for such kind of thing? Thanks.

Discover the host where CV is installed...

David, everthing has been discovered except the EVA. Here is my wbemdisco return:

Re: HP SIM and CV9.1 (EVA4000)

You'll need the credentials used in the wbemdisco added into either the global or system specific for the server hosting CV.

Not sure about CV 9 (still on 8) but those credentials also need to be added to the HP Storage Admins local group on the CV server.

Re: HP SIM and CV9.1 (EVA4000)

Rob, one question for you. I noticed if I use Global Protocol Settings, under WBEM settings, I don't see I can specify a port number. But under System Protocol Settings, I can do that. Do you know why? Is the default port 5989 for WBEM? Do I need to use cimuser on the CV server to create another user for this purpose? Much appreciated.

Re: HP SIM and CV9.1 (EVA4000)

I think 5989 is the default. I've usually used server specific credentials though as I have a local account on the CV server for CV access.
Not sure about cimuser, I didn't need to use it for CV8 (well not that I remember) But they could have changed things there.

Re: HP SIM and CV9.1 (EVA4000)

I was inspired by this document:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=470490&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c01658634

so I just modified the "wbemportlist.xml" file changed the port from 5989 to 60000 and it solved the problem. EVA appeared after another round of "Identify System"!
