HP SIM and ESX 3.5 Identification

I have HP SIM 5.2 installed on a Windows 2003 server. I installed the v8.1 Insight Management Agent on my ESX 3.5 host. I'm trying to test VMM however I can't get the license to show up because the serial number from my DL380 isn't being detected from my ESX host. The identification discovered the VM running on this host and knows it's an ESX host.

The serial number is configured in the BIOS.

Why isn't my serial number being pulled?

Thanks.

Wrong forum but update the SIM to SP2 level

"Fixed Discovery and Association issue that could occur with ESX 3.5 and Linux managed nodes"

Re: HP SIM and ESX 3.5 Identification

Still didn't work after upgrading to SP2 + hotfix.

I ended up getting this issue resolved by uninstalling/reinstalling the HP SIM software and insight management agents on my Windows server and ESX host. After the reinstall everything works fine.

Thanks.

Did You try to delete the host from SIM database and re-discover it ?

Use 'Manage Communications' to diagnose communications problems between HP SIM and your ESX host.
