HP SIM fails to connect to postgres DB

Hi ,
HP SIM running on RHEL 3.0 fails to connect to the database(postgres). The error message displayed
"HP Systems Insight Manager shutting down: Lost connection to database, exception: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: A connection error has occurred: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: Password authentication failed for user "mxadmin" "

Using the command utility mxpassword, i had modified the DB password. How can i make SIM to work normally again.

Any pointer to this is of great help.

check if mxagentconfig makes a difference.
