HP SIM not reporting hosts with EVA based storage

We have finally got our SIM to report on and collect data from our EVA environment. However, it doesnt report/collect on the associated hosts with the storage.

What are we missing?

Hi,

You are missing a Storage Essentials "plugin"

is this a plug in that requires SE purchase? It is my understanding that you can get this info from SIM

Re: HP SIM not reporting hosts with EVA based storage

I am not sure about that. Maybe some custom tool which uses SSSU scripts would do the trick.

it was my understanding (via a HP StorageWorks conference) that this was an option to gather at least host names without the SE plug in. Thanks for your help.

Re: HP SIM not reporting hosts with EVA based storage

I've not got the EVA collection to display the hosts - they all show up as Unknown. It would be nice to see it from a single point.

So you're only going to be able to see the host storage allocation from the hosts themselves.

Also it's complicated by the fact that some hosts (e.g. ESX ) can concurrently mount the same LUN.
