HP SIM service Accounts?

Hi All,

Do we have any link/post on "how many" accounts (Admin/service) are needed for a fresh installation of HP SIM? and when/where to use them?

(Considering both cases - database is on a local and remote machine)

Regards

Re: HP SIM service Accounts?

Hi All,

How many "service" accounts (group/users) we need to create in AD for HP SIM ?

Re: HP SIM service Accounts?

Hi,

we're running HP SIM with a single Serviceaccount.

You need only one for the SIM Service and the Database (you can use the same for both but it may be better to one for the database and one for SIM)

Thank you Ville

Could you please post a link to the doc supporting the same?

Re: HP SIM service Accounts?

You only really need a single service account with admin access to the SIM server and write access on the DB instance. Helps if that account is also a power user/admin on target windows computers. If security is tighter then you may need separate accounts for SQL server/agent etc.

If my post was helpful please award me Kudos! or Points :)

Re: HP SIM service Accounts?

@Shocko - I'm planning to have CMS & DB on seperate servers.

Now, in this case wht accounts i should ask for AD team to configure?
