HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

My SIM 5.1 (on Linux) has become unresponsive on port 50000. Could anyone please tell me which file to tweak to change the port number to something else?

Thanks.

Re: HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

I changed the port to no avail. The SIM Server is not running on https://sim_server:50000.

ps -ef | grep mx shows /opt/mx/lbin/mxdtf and /opt/mx/lbin/mxdomainmgr running.

ps -ef | grep postmaster shows /usr/bin/postmaster -p 5432 -D /var/lib/pgsql/data

Re: HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

chris,

why do you need to change the port ? is something else listening on it if you do a netstat ?
what's in the logs when you restart sim ?

Re: HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

It was working before and now it doesn't work anymore!

Changed the port because I don't get anything on https://:50000/ or https://localhost:50000/ or even on http://:50000/.

netstat shows nothing is listening on that port.

Which log file are you referring to? Here is the output of /var/opt/mx/logs/mxdomainmgr.0.log when I restart hpsim (/etc/init.d/hpsim restart)

Re: HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

chris,

i think there are also mxdtf and mxinventory processes.
has anything been changed upgraded on this system ?
talking of upgrades you are on 5.1 an upgrade to 5.2 will bring you up to date and may solve this issue as well. if you have a contract and talk to hp they would probably recommend you do this anyway.

download here :-

good luck

Re: HP-SIM unresponsive on port 50000

Mark,

I tried to start /opt/mx/lbin/mxinventory but /var/opt/mx/logs/mxinventory.0.log says: Usage - must be run from SIM

I tried to start /opt/mx/lbin/mxdtf but ps -ef | grep mxdtf shows it's already running. Also, /var/opt/mx/logs/DTFServer_log4j.log file is empty.

Nothing has been changed or upgraded. It was running before but now it isn't anymore.

Thanks for any further help.

Hi Chris, did you solved the problem? How?
I have the same problem but in a Windows environment.

Thanks.
