HP Sim 5.2 to send email notifications of hardware errors in IML

I would like to get the Integrated Management Log which is see in the System Management Homepage of a server to be sent to me via email through HP SIM. Is this possible to configure?

Are the events in HP SIM predefined? How can I customise this to alert me of hardware errors?

Basically, i would like to received notification whenever there is a critical hardware error.

Please assist. Thank you.

Re: HP Sim 5.2 to send email notifications of hardware errors in IML

If you have HP hardware and you've built from Smart Start then you have that capability using the HP Agents.
These detect hardware error and generate an SNMP Trap if something happens.

You have to check that the Trap destination is set with the community name HPSIM knows as well as the HPSIM Server being the destination.

You don't need to do anything with the IML, that's just another reporting mechanism.

If you have HP Hardware and built the servers just using a CD then you'll need to download the appropriate Proliant Support Pack from HP and install that. A number of OSes are supported.
