HP System Insight Manager + EMC SMI-S Provider
Hi,
EMC SMI-S Provider is installed successfully,
TestSmiProvider.exe connects to it provides added storage
Executes requests to local and remote hosts:

Wbemdisco.exe successfully connected to the EMC SMI-S provider.
Errors in identification in the HP SIM:
Minor: This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOMs installed. No storage
systems will be found on this system.
Minor: The Central Management System (CMS) cannot communicate with the
CIMOM locally installed on the managed system using the WBEM
protocol, Identification will try to identify Windows systems using
the WMI Mapper as proxy; for Linux and HP-UX systems, check
credentials by going to Options->Security->Credentials->System
Credentials. For Linux systems also check if the HP WBEM provider
is installed.
In the logs of EMC CIM Server authentication is successful, but there are some errors:
"NAVSSLSocket: SSL read error: Error reading data. Error details: A system call error."
"ECOM WebServer: Net Exception occured while doing SSL handshake. Error accepting connection. Error details: An error occurred as a result of an SSL protocol failure."
Regards
lodo

Re: HP System Insight Manager + EMC SMI-S Provider

Re: HP System Insight Manager + EMC SMI-S Provider
So looking at the output you attached, you installed the SMI-S providors and it's listening on default port of 5989? Are there any other SMI-S providors listening on same?

Re: HP System Insight Manager + EMC SMI-S Provider
I have the same problem with adding EMC VNX5300. I can't find any of working solution. EMC ECOM is running on port 5989, wbemdico can connect to ECOM and get data.
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo off
WbemDisco 01.01.00
------------------
Gui: Gui starting
Gui: Creating frame...
HOST = 10.0.0.55
PORT = 5989
NAMESP = interop

PASSWD = *****
Connect to 10.x.x.x in namespace interop with SSL=true
ObjectManager.Name=EMC:10.0.0.55
ElementName=EMC CIM Server
CimomVersion=<missing>

ProviderVersion=<missing>
Profile.RegisteredName=SMI-S

[...]
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo off
WbemDisco 01.01.00
------------------
Gui: Gui starting
Gui: Creating frame...
HOST = 10.0.0.55
PORT = 5989
NAMESP = root/emc
USER = admin
PASSWD = *****
Connect to 10.0.0.55 in namespace root/emc with SSL=true
ObjectManager.Name=storagetst

Did anyone managed to successfully add that kind of storage device to HP SIM? Is this supported? I'm running HP SIM 7.1. Here's the error:
* Checking for WBEM protocol support on system...
Minor: This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOMs installed. No storage
systems will be found on this system.

Re: HP System Insight Manager + EMC SMI-S Provider
Hi,
we meet the same problem, use HPSIM to monitor EMC nas80, have you got any guide doc for it?
BTW, where to obtain EMC SMI-S provider?
Thanks for your reply, :)
