HP Systems Insight Manager Service Not Starting

Weve recently replaced CIM 5.5 with the latest version of SIM (5 if i recall), however we are having problems getting the service entitled "HP Systems Insight Manager Service" to start.

Ive looked in the documentation and in other areas of the support site and cannot find anything that relates to our problem.

Can anyone help? Thanks

Hello Haydn,

Afaik, first upgrade to SIM 4.x from older version and then from SIM 4.x to SIM 5.

Its ok, we managed to solve the problem.

Basically it was a completely fresh installation of SIM, CIM has been completely disabled.

We restarted the system and the service started properly. Thank you for the quick response.

We are now able to use SIM now and server status is being reported properly.

We have another problem now though.

The new problem is some of our agents on our servers are out of date.

Is it possible to do a straight agent update, and how would this be done?

If you are referring to agent update on managed nodes,yes it can be done.
What's straight agent update?

Yeah those links helped greatly.

Thanks again for that, ive managed to get hold of the new proliant support packs for the servers.

The original problems has returned though.

Basically we have a completely fresh installation of SIM installed, and this was working properly yesterday.

We restarted the machine that it was working on yesterday, and the "HP Systems Insight Manager" service would no longer start.

We then had to re-install SIM over the top of this in order for it to work, however it would no longer work after a restart.

Dont suppose you have any more suggestions? You have been very helpful so far. Thank you.
