HPSIM, CW status not showing, i'm stuck on how to get it.

Morning,

We had to trash our HPSIM install due to Database issues, so i've re-installed on a new machine. I've installed Remote Support pack, and have Remote Support Software Manager etc, I also have OSEM on there (although i can't seem to add systems to monitor)

All services appear to be running. ISE_CMS_SWMAGENT and ISE_SWM_COMMANDQUEUE are running.

I don't think it's a client setting as they all really haven't changed, apart from having a new destination.

Help me out here gents, what on earth am i missing ?

Hi Steve,

For CW information SIM needs to know the Serial No., the Product id and the country code.

Check if these information reflects for the given server. otherwise, edit the system properties to fill the above details.

Try running the entitlement again to check if the data is populated correctly.

All the boxes have this as they have been registered in previous installs of HPSIM.

Problem is, i don't have anything to run, i don't have a Contract and Warranty status on the Options menu etc.

So i can't actually run anything to scan/check status.

it's not that the CW status is showing as blue/white exclaimation mark, question mark, the column does not exists... i can't add it in on Customise, etc.

Steve,

Do you see "Remote Support Client A.05.10" with status as "installed" Under Remote support Software manager??

Remote Support Client A.05.10 holds the CW module in SIM.

If yes, did you try reinstalling the remote Support software Manager again??

Depends on how i'm reading your exact wording really.

Shows the top set of installed options.

I've reinstalled the RSSM 3 times in the last 24 hours just to make sure.

I've ran the "check for packages" OK, and it's all registered and confirmed for connectivity.

Closest to your wording is

Remote Support Client installation instructions and depot for x64 Windows A.05.10 which as you can see in jpg is showing as installed.

I had exactly a similar issue with 32X windows box.

To resolve the issue i had a case open with HP and they went for a complete re-installation of HP SIM. Let me know your email id i will forward you the case summary.

You may also try doing the following to uninstall the Remote Support Pack systematically:-

1) Click on "Uninstall Remote Support Software Manager" under Start> All Programs> Hewlett-Packard> SWMAgent

2)Uninstall ISEE_CMS_SWMAGENT from Add/Remove Programs

3)Delete the folder "SWMAgent" under "C:\Program Files\HP"

4)Go to Regedit and delete "ISEECMSSWMAGENT" under "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services]"

Login through the console mode(mstsc /console) if you are installing via RDP. Also check if "Turn on the DEP for essential Windows Program and service only" under My computer properties> Advanced> Performance Settings> Data Execution Prevention.
You can they try re-installing RSSM again.

Baffled... really am... this was installed only yesterday afternoon on this machine.

Can't believe it's not actually worked.

i did make the mistake of not having DEP disabled before the initial install. But i did then configure it and re-installed.

I'll have a go with your solution first, if not then i will think of a plan.

Right, done that logged in via the iLO, it's just updating packages now.

What section area should i see
"Remote Support Client A.05.10"

in please ?

You should see it under "Service essentials."

I see it under "service essentials" in the screen shot you pasted(2nd option).

Sadly, i still don't have the Contract Warranty status under options, so looks like a re-install of OS tomorrow.

Well, we did a brand new RDEP install of the OS. Disabled DEP, logged on via Rib (Locally) and STILL it won't install the option within HPSIM after installing and configuring Remote Support Software Manager.


All packages i'd expect to see are there OK, and i'm right out of ideas.

Thoughts ?
