HPSIM5.1 mxpassword and mxdomainmgr consume 100 percent CPU Time.
I have a new installation of HPSIM 5.1. Installation proceeded normally, and I can happily log into HPSIM. Overnight HPSIM has generated about 5000 alerts saying that login failed authentication.
There are a matching 5000 alerts in my eventvwr -> security saying:
Logon Failure:
Reason: Unknown user name or bad password
User Name: Administrator
Domain: MANAGEMENT
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: Advapi
Authentication Package: Negotiate
Workstation Name: MANAGEMENT
Caller User Name: Administrator
Caller Domain: MANAGEMENT
Caller Logon ID: (0x0,0x15094)
Caller Process ID: 144644
Transited Services: -
Source Network Address: -
Source Port: -
And another one:
Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Logon account: Administrator
Source Workstation: MANAGEMENT
Error Code: 0xC000006A
I can confirm that the same username and password as the local administrator account was used to install the software. I have confirmed that this user has sysadmin rights to the MSDE SQL database that was automatically installed.
The mxpassword.exe process looks to spawn, attempt login, generate errors in the event log, and HPSIM alerts page, and then die. I new mxpassword.exe process is immediately respawned.
Any Ideas, comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: HPSIM5.1 mxpassword and mxdomainmgr consume 100 percent CPU Time.
I completely removed SIM and all components then only installed the base SIM without the PMP and VMM. Issues went away
