HPSIM6.0 update - SQL Server 2005 SP3 requirement

Hello

I'm trying to update SIM5.3 SP2 installation useing default local SQL Server 2005 database to SIM6.0

First step of installation is to check existing database which results to following message

"an unsupported database version is installed"
HP System Insight Manager requires SQL Server 2005 SP3 or above ...."

We are useing "default" SQL Server 2005 database which is bundled with SIM5.3 installkit

Now I'm little confused that SIM6.0 minimum requirement for SQL database is SQL Server 2005 SP3.

Does it mean that existing database must be upgraded to SP3 before starting SIM6.0 installation?

If yes, what version of SQL Server 2005 should be used ? SQL 2005 Server Express Edition SP3?

thanks a lot for clarification

The SP3 is also available for MSSQL 2005 Express. - Perform also the migration steps. Otherwise you may risk a loss of your SIM data.

Re: HPSIM6.0 update - SQL Server 2005 SP3 requirement

Hello Werner
thanks for your reply -
I've just installed SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP3 on CMS useing default settings, but SIM6.0 SQL Installation warning message comes up again. Is there any documentation available how to upgrade SQL database? didn't found any detail instructions about this in the SIM6.0 Readme or Installation Guide. It only references to
use SQL Server 2005 SP3 but no additional info.
