HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
Hi,
We try for days to get EVA arrays detected by HPSim.
Windows 2008R2 - HPSim 7.0 - Command View 10.0 DL360 G7
No installation errors when installing HPSim 7.0 followed by the CV 10.0 installation.
HPSim detects servers. CV has access to EVA storages and can manage them.
HPSim discovery for this server returns the message
This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOMs installed.
WbemDisco returns errors :
Error enumerating ObjectManager - CIM_ERR_INVALID_CLASS
Reinstalling CV 10.0 gives the same error.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Re: HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
Did you specify the correct port for your CV EVA SMI-S ?
In most cases you will see the reason of your problem in the SMI-S CIMMON log file or
in some casess e.g. IP address changes you also need to check the CIMMON provider log file.
Check also the troubleshooting page in the SIM help for simple config error
e.g. the account is not in the correct groups.
wbem port list does not include the port of your SMI-S installation.

Re: HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
Hi,
Have WMI proxy on port 5989
TCP local add 0.0.0.0:5988 Foreign 0.0.0.0:0 Listening JavaWrapper.exe
TCP local add 0.0.0.0:5989 Foreign 0.0.0.0:0 Listening WMIServer.exe
TCP local add 0.0.0.0:60000 Foreign 0.0.0.0:0 Listening JavaWrapper.exe
Settings I found in the SMI-S cxws.properties config file :
cxws.http.port=5988
cxws.https.port=60000
CIMON server is listening on port 5989 (wbemportlist.xml)
Whare are the SMI-S CIMOM logfiles supposed to be located ?
in Program Files (X86)\Hewlett-Packard\SMI-S\CXWSCimom\logs ?
There are two Local Groups HP Storage Admins and HP Storage Users with. Local and domain Administrator are members of the two groups.
Thanks for you reply

Re: HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
Problem solved
Installing both HPSim & CV on the same server requires two WBEM https ports on the host. One for WBEM/WMI Mapper (5989) and one for SMI-S (60000)
Add the https port for SMI-S inthe file
Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\ identification\wbemportlist.xml
You should see the two WBEM ports in the CMS System credentials

Re: HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
You might want to check the managed systems guide for Remote Support Advanced. There are details instruction on who to configure WMI Mapper when CV is also installed.
The guide can be found here
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c03052695/c03052695.pdf
Chapter 15 covers the EVA's
This guide should help even if you do not have RSA installed

Re: HPSim 7.0, CV 10.0 and EVA 4100 arrays not detected.
Hi,
I have similar problem
upon discovery sim reports
This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOMs installed.
I have followed the white paper "System insight manager with HP command View EVA"
I didnt get any errors during configuraction but still SIM cant see SMIS provider
Can somone tell how sim doscovers SMI-S and how to find relevant logs of whats wrong?
Regards.

This might help you to check connectiivty between HP SIM and CVEVA,
Testing SMI-S provider installations

Run WBEMDISCO from HP SIM,
